Ginger Butternut Squash Dumplings in Chili Crisp Broth Sauce

Ingredients
  

For the Dumplings

  • 1 large Butternut Squash peeled, de-seeded, and finely chopped
  • 4 tbsp. Olive Oil
  • 2 tsp. Chili Crisp Oil
  • 2 tbsp. Honey
  • 1" Fresh Ginger grated
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • Salt & Black Pepper to taste
  • 22-24 Wonton or Dumpling Wrappers
  • Scallions for serving
  • Klarbrunn Raspberry Sparkling Water for serving

For the Broth Sauce

  • 1 tbsp. Butter
  • 1" Fresh Ginger grated
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • ¼ cup Soy Sauce
  • 2 cups Vegetable Broth or Stock
  • 1 tbsp. Chili Crisp Oil

Instructions
 

To Make the Dumplings

  • In a large pan over medium high heat, add the olive oil to heat until shimmering, about 1 minute. Add the butternut squash to sauté for 8-10 minutes, until tender and slightly browned.
  • Add the garlic and ginger to sauté 1 minute. De-galze the pan with ¼ cup water. Cook 1-2 more minutes, until water has evaporated.
  • Stir in the chili crisp oil and honey. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Remove from heat to cool.

To Assemble the Dumplings

  • For each dumpling or wonton wrapper, add about 2 teaspoons of the filling into the center. Brush the edges with water. Fold up the edges to seal in the filling. Starting at one end, pinch the edges to fold inward. Repeat with remaining wrappers.

To Cook the Dumplings

  • (Optional: Dip the bottoms of the dumplings into water then a bowl of sesame seeds.) Add 1 tbsp. olive oil to a nonstick pan over medium high heat to warm up for 1 minute. Add the dumplings into the hot oil to cook 1 minute. Add ¼ cup water and quickly cover with lid to steam for 3-5 minutes.

To Make the Broth Sauce

  • Add the butter to a large saucepan over medium high heat. Add the garlic and ginger to sauté 1 minute. De-glaze the pan with 2 tablespoons water to cook an additional 1 minute. Stir in the soy sauce and broth. Simmer for 4-5 minutes, until slightly reduced.

To Serve

  • Serve the dumplings with the chili crisp broth sauce and fresh scallions. Enjoy with Klarbrunn Raspberry Sparkling Water for a complimentary refreshment!
