Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwiches

  • 1 can Klarbrunn Lime Sparkling Water plus more for serving
  • 2 ½ cups All Purpose Flour
  • 1 ½ lbs. Chicken Thighs or Breasts skinless and boneless
  • 2 tsp. EACH Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, Paprika, Salt, and Black Pepper
  • 2 tbsp. Hot Sauce
  • 1 Egg beaten
  • Frying Oil
  • Mayo or spicy mayo for serving
  • Pickles for serving
  • Coleslaw for serving
  • Burger Buns, toasted for serving


  • Heat up your frying oil to 375F. Line a wire rack nearby with paper towels.
  • Set up your station with 4 large bowls.
  • In the first bowl, combine the chicken with 1 teaspoon of each of the seasonings (garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper) and 1 tablespoon hot sauce. Mix well.
  • In the second bowl, add ½ cup of the flour. Set aside.
  • In the third bowl, add 1 ½ cups flour and remaining seasonings. Mix well. Set aside.
  • In the fourth bowl, add the remaining ½ cup flour, sparkling water, 1 tbsp. hot sauce, and the beaten egg. Whisk well.
  • Dredge the seasoned chicken through the plain flour, then the beaten egg mixture, then the seasoned flour mixture to coat very well.
  • Fry in the hot oil for 6-7 minutes, until internal temperature reaches 165F and golden brown on the outside. Use a slotted spoon or tongs to transfer to the wire rack to drain any excess oils.
  • Assemble your toasted buns with the mayo (or spicy mayo), spicy fried chicken, coleslaw, and pickle chips.
